Manufacturer Test
Progress Test
Early manufacturing of the 1000kVA single-phase pad-mounted transformer emphasizes core performance verification through detailed magnetic flux mapping and watt-loss analysis on premium steel to ensure ultra-low no-load consumption. Winding production integrates continuous resistance monitoring and high-frequency pulse testing to eliminate turn-to-turn defects and guarantee thermal uniformity. Cabinet assembly undergoes precise geometric tolerance checks via laser profiling and compartment door pressure testing for vandal-resistant integrity. Initial core-coil mounting includes vector group confirmation and reduced-voltage excitation to profile magnetization behavior accurately. Tank fabrication receives advanced non-destructive testing—ultrasonic wall thickness and vacuum decay methods—to validate material strength and weld quality. Bushing integration trials verify sealing torque and electrical clearance compliance. Comprehensive digital logging with component serialization establishes traceability and quality assurance from the outset of production.
Design Tests
All transformers will be tested after finishing the production, test items as follows:
♦ Insulation Power Factor:
♦ Ratio, Polarity, and Phase Relation:
♦ Winding Resistance:
♦ Impulse Tests:
♦ On load Loss Test:
♦ No Load Loss Test
♦ Leak Test:
♦ DC Insulation Resistance Test
♦ Transformer Turns Ratio/TTR (All Tap Voltages)

Transformer Factory Acceptance Test
NPC Electric will tests made for quality control by the manufacturer on every device or representative samples, or on parts or materials as required, to verify during production that the product meets the design specifications. Sophisticated FAT continuation involves double-frequency induced testing with sensitive partial discharge quantification and RIV measurement, ensuring long-term insulation system health under overvoltage stress. Regulation, impedance, and full-load loss determination employ precision short-circuit techniques for validated efficiency and mechanical endurance data. Operational cycling extensively exercises primary switching apparatus, confirming load-make/load-break ratings and lockout functionality. Fuse coordination and fault interruption simulations verify protective scheme reliability. Extended heat run testing at rated and overload conditions tracks temperature gradients via distributed sensors, maintaining rises within thermal class specifications. Sound pressure level profiling in an acoustically treated area documents compliance for community-sensitive installations. Final holistic inspection scrutinizes cabinet security features, accessory integration, finish quality, and documentation completeness. Full test dossiers—including oscillograms, thermal images, and signed reports—accompany the transformer, certifying its superior readiness for demanding large-scale underground applications.
Routine Test - No Load Loss Test
Voltage source (usually 230V, 400V or customized according to customer requirements to adapt to different equipment)
Power analyzer (used to measure power loss and efficiency)
Ammeter and voltmeter
Temperature and humidity meter
Please ensure that the test is carried out in a suitable environment with a relative humidity of less than 75% and avoid rainy days or extreme weather (recommended temperature range: 20-30°C).
Connect the test equipment to the high voltage side of the transformer, making sure the wiring is correct and the equipment is grounded.
Apply Test Voltage:
Usually it is 110% of the rated voltage, for example, if the rated voltage of the transformer is 33 KV, apply 36.3 KV (110%).

FAQ From Customers
-
What is a Transformer?A transformer is an electrical device used to change the voltage of alternating current (AC). It works on the principle of electromagnetic induction, converting high-voltage current into low-voltage current or low-voltage current into high-voltage current. Transformers are widely used in power transmission, distribution systems, and various electronic devices.
-
What are the main uses of a transformer? The main use of a transformer is voltage conversion. Transformers are used in power transmission systems to help transfer electricity from power plants to consumers. In addition, transformers are also used in electronic devices such as chargers, televisions, power adapters, etc., to adjust the voltage to meet the requirements of different devices.
-
Do you have UL listed?Yes, our transformer has UL listed. We have exported to America many pad mounted transformer, substation transformer and HV.
