Packing and Shipping

500kVA Oil Immersed Transformer
In order to ensure that the NPC ELECTRIC 500kVA three-phase oil-immersed transformer is safe and stable during transportation to prevent damage, professional packaging is used.
The transformer is fixed on a sturdy wooden pallet to maintain stability and prevent tilting or displacement. Rubber shock-absorbing pads are used at key stress-bearing parts to reduce the impact of vibration during transportation. The outside of the transformer is covered with moisture-proof and rust-proof plastic film to avoid being affected by the external environment.
The outside is packed with high-strength wooden boxes or steel frame structures to prevent the transformer from being hit during long-distance transportation. Indicators such as "lifting point", "no tilting", and "fragile" are marked on the outside of the package to ensure correct loading and unloading. The transformer is equipped with a silicone desiccant to prevent moisture from affecting its performance during transportation.
The accessories, such as the bushing, oil pillow, and thermostat of the transformer, are packed separately and placed in a special wooden box to avoid damage. The nameplate, technical manual, test report, certificate of conformity, and other documents are packed in a waterproof document bag and included with the goods.
NPC ELECTRIC's 500kVA three-phase oil-immersed transformer is packaged in a sturdy and protective design, combined with efficient logistics and transportation, to ensure that the equipment arrives at the customer site intact and safe.

500kVA Oil Immersed Transformer
500kVA Oil Immersed Transformer Progress Test

Progress Test

NPC ELECTRIC’s three-phase oil-immersed transformers are subject to rigorous process testing during the production process to ensure quality and performance. First, raw materials such as silicon steel sheets and copper windings are subject to factory inspection to ensure compliance with technical standards. After the windings and cores are assembled, DC resistance tests and insulation withstand voltage tests are carried out to detect electrical performance. Finished transformers are subject to induced withstand voltage and partial discharge tests to verify the reliability of the insulation system. Load loss and no-load loss tests are used to evaluate the operating efficiency and energy consumption level of the transformer. Finally, after the transformer is oil-treated and sealed, it undergoes factory testing to ensure its safety and stability under various operating conditions.

Transformer Factory Acceptance Test

The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of 500 kVA three-phase oil-immersed transformers is designed to ensure that the product meets technical standards and customer requirements. First, a visual inspection is carried out to confirm that the transformer is structurally intact, clearly marked, and free of mechanical damage. This is followed by a winding DC resistance test to detect whether the winding resistance meets the design standards. The insulation withstand voltage test is used to verify the insulation strength of the transformer to ensure its safety under high-voltage operation. The induction withstand voltage test is used to check the electrical performance of the core and windings to prevent potential insulation failures. The partial discharge test is used to detect insulation defects inside the transformer to ensure long-term reliable operation. The no-load loss and load loss tests evaluate the energy efficiency of the transformer to ensure that the specified performance parameters are met. The ratio and polarity test are used to verify the voltage conversion capability and phase sequence correctness of the transformer. The temperature rise test simulates the actual operating environment to ensure that the temperature change of the transformer under rated load is within a safe range. Finally, an oil sample analysis is carried out to test the insulation properties and moisture content of the transformer oil to ensure that the quality of the oil meets the standards.

Routine Test - DC Insulation Resistance Test

Purpose of Testing
The purpose of DC insulation resistance testing is to measure the insulation resistance of a device by applying a DC voltage, thereby evaluating the health of the insulation material and the voltage withstand capability of the electrical device. This test helps detect potential insulation aging, moisture or damage, preventing electrical failures in the device.
Testing Equipment
Insulation resistance tester (e.g. Megger, Fluke, Hioki, Klein Tools, etc.)
Voltage source (usually 500V, 1000V, 2500V, or customized according to customer requirements)
Temperature and humidity meter (used to record the ambient temperature and humidity during the test to ensure that the test conditions meet the standard requirements.)
Pre-Test Preparation
Make sure the device is properly grounded and fully discharged to prevent residual charge in the device from affecting the test results.
Perform the test under suitable environmental conditions. It is recommended to have a relative humidity below 75%, no rain, and a temperature range of 20-30°C to avoid moisture or temperature fluctuations affecting the test results.
Test Progress
Connect the Test Instrument:
Connect an insulation resistance tester to the high voltage terminal of the device under test and to ground.
Apply Test Voltage:
Select an appropriate test voltage based on the rated voltage of the equipment .
Measure and Record
Start the test and record the following parameters:
Insulation resistance value (MΩ)
Applied voltage
Ambient temperature and humidity during testing
Temperature Correction
The measured insulation resistance values are corrected to a reference temperature (usually 20°C) for accurate evaluation.
Repeat Testing (if necessary)
Measure different windings (high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage) or each bushing separately, and conduct comparative analysis to ensure the insulation status of all parts.
Evaluation Criteria (Reference)
nsulation resistance ≥ 1000 MΩ (excellent)
500 MΩ ≤ Insulation resistance < 1000 MΩ (good)
100 MΩ ≤ Insulation resistance < 500 MΩ
Insulation resistance < 100 MΩ
*These comprehensive tests ensure that each transformer meets performance standards and operates reliably under various conditions.
