Packing and Shipping
For international shipments, the transformer is fixed inside a wooden crate or steel-reinforced container structure, compliant with global maritime and land-transport regulations. All external packaging materials are fumigation-certified for customs clearance. Detailed packing lists, accessory inventories, and installation manuals are placed inside waterproof document pouches for easy verification upon arrival. To prevent oil leakage risks, the transformer is shipped with securely sealed valves and monitored oil levels, and optional nitrogen-filled protection can be applied depending on customer requirements.
Shipping options include ocean freight, land transport, and combined logistics solutions based on project location and timeline. Our logistics team coordinates professional handling with certified carriers to ensure safe transit and delivery accuracy. Upon arrival at the destination, engineers can provide on-site unloading guidance, inspection support, and commissioning assistance to ensure the transformer is installed and put into operation smoothly. Each step of the packing and shipping process is designed to preserve the integrity and performance of the transformer until it reaches the customer’s facility.
Manufacturer Test
Progress test
During the production process of the 50kV 1000kVA Outdoor Three-Phase Oil-Immersed Power Transformer for Distribution, a comprehensive Progress Test is performed to verify quality at every manufacturing stage. Inspections include core lamination accuracy, coil winding tension control, insulation integrity checks, and dimensional verification of mechanical components. Intermediate electrical tests, such as resistance measurement, turns-ratio assessment, and partial discharge evaluation, ensure that the transformer meets performance benchmarks before tank assembly. Oil leakage checks, welding inspections, and pressure resistance tests confirm structural reliability. These progressive evaluations ensure full compliance with IEC, IEEE, and GB standards while guaranteeing stable performance and long-term operational safety.
Design Tests
All transformers will be tested after finishing the production test items as below:
♦ Leak testing with pressure for liquid-immersed transformers
♦ Test of transformer oil
♦ Measurement of voltage ratio and check of phase displacement
♦ Measurement of winding DC resistance
♦ Measurement of d. c. Insulation resistance between each winding to earth, and check of the core and frame insulation
♦ Capacitive bushing test
♦ Measurement of dissipation factor (tan δ) of the insulation system capacitances, and determination of capacitances windings-to-earth
♦ Measurement of no-load loss and current at 90%,100%,110% of rated voltage
♦ Operation test on on-load tap-changer
♦ Measurement of short-circuit impedance and load loss
♦ Lightning impulse test
♦ Induced-voltage test with partial discharge measurement
♦ Auxiliary wiring check
♦ Current transformer test
♦ Frequency response analysis test
Transformer Factory Acceptance Test
The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the 50kV 1000kVA Outdoor Three-Phase Oil-Immersed Power Transformer for Distribution is conducted to ensure full compliance with design specifications, performance standards, and customer requirements before shipment. The FAT includes a complete series of routine and type tests performed under controlled factory conditions. Key electrical tests include insulation resistance measurement, applied AC withstand voltage, induced overvoltage withstand test, no-load current and no-load loss assessment, load loss and impedance tests, and short-circuit impedance verification. Additional evaluations include lightning impulse testing, partial discharge measurement, temperature rise test, and transformer oil quality analysis to confirm dielectric strength. Mechanical inspections cover tank pressure integrity, bushing alignment, tap-changer functionality, and protection device calibration. Final inspection verifies all accessories, documentation, nameplate data, and overall workmanship, ensuring the transformer meets international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and GB before delivery.
Routine Test - Applied Voltage
Voltage source: usually 1 kV, 5 kV, 10 kV, or customized according to customer needs
Temperature and humidity meter: used to record environmental conditions
Check the connection terminals and wiring to ensure that they are not loose or contaminated.
Test under suitable environmental conditions: relative humidity below 75% and no rain (recommended temperature: 20-30°C).
Properly connect the test equipment to the bushings or terminals of the device under test and ensure that all connection points are properly grounded.
Selecting the test voltage:
Select the appropriate applied voltage based on the rated voltage of the equipment.
Measuring leakage current

FAQ From Customers
-
What is a Transformer?A transformer is an electrical device used to change the voltage of alternating current (AC). It works on the principle of electromagnetic induction, converting high-voltage current into low-voltage current or low-voltage current into high-voltage current. Transformers are widely used in power transmission, distribution systems, and various electronic devices.
-
What are the main uses of a transformer? The main use of a transformer is voltage conversion. Transformers are used in power transmission systems to help transfer electricity from power plants to consumers. In addition, transformers are also used in electronic devices such as chargers, televisions, power adapters, etc., to adjust the voltage to meet the requirements of different devices.
