Packing and Shipping

100kVA Completely self-protected(CSP) Single Phase Pole Mounted Transformer
NPC ELECTRIC single-phase transformers are designed to be securely packaged for sea freight transport, ensuring safe delivery across long distances.
For this purpose, the packing of the 100kVA Completely Self-Protected (CSP) Single Phase Pole Mounted Transformer is a meticulous process aimed at safeguarding the product throughout its journey from the factory to the installation site.
The transformer is first enveloped in a high-grade anti-static and moisture-resistant plastic film. This film not only shields the transformer from moisture, which could cause corrosion and electrical malfunctions, but also prevents the accumulation of static electricity that might damage sensitive components. After that, a layer of soft, high-density foam padding is carefully wrapped around the transformer. This foam acts as a shock absorber, protecting the unit from impacts and vibrations during handling and transportation. Special attention is given to the protruding parts and vulnerable areas, where additional foam is added for extra protection.
The foam-wrapped transformer is then placed into a custom-fabricated wooden box. The interior of the box is lined with a layer of rubber or felt to further dampen vibrations. The box is designed to fit the transformer precisely, with custom-cut compartments and supports to hold the unit firmly in place. Reinforcing bars are installed on the corners and edges of the box to enhance its structural integrity and prevent it from being crushed or damaged.
On the exterior of the wooden box, clear and prominent labels are affixed. These labels include handling instructions such as "Fragile", "This Side Up", and "Keep Dry". Product information labels display details such as the transformer's model number, capacity (100kVA), weight, and dimensions. There are also warning signs indicating the presence of high-voltage components and safety precautions.
The choice of transport mode depends on the destination and delivery time requirements. For local or regional deliveries, trucks are typically used due to their flexibility and relatively short transit times. The trucks are equipped with shock-absorbing suspension systems to minimize vibrations during the journey. For long-distance or international shipments, a combination of sea freight and land transport may be employed. Sea freight is cost-effective for large and heavy items like transformers, while land transport is used for the final leg of the journey to the installation site.
During loading, the transformer is carefully lifted using appropriate lifting equipment such as cranes or forklifts. Once loaded onto the transport vehicle, the wooden box is secured using heavy-duty straps and chains. The straps are tightened to ensure that the box remains stable and does not shift during transit. Additional bracing materials may be used to further secure the box in place, especially in the case of rough roads or long-distance travel.

Transformer Factory Acceptance Test

NPC Electric will tests made for quality control by the manufacturer on every device or representative samples, or on parts or materials as required, to verify during production that the product meets the design specifications.

The factory acceptance test for the 100kVA fully self-protected (CSP) single-phase pole-mounted transformer is a key link in ensuring product quality and performance compliance.

The test is comprehensive and rigorous, with electrical performance testing as the focus. The ratio test accurately verifies the accuracy of the transformer voltage conversion, the no-load test and short-circuit test measure the no-load loss and load loss respectively to evaluate its operating efficiency and energy saving, and the insulation resistance, dielectric loss factor and partial discharge test are used to detect insulation performance to ensure safe operation.

In terms of mechanical performance, the appearance, size, structural strength and firmness of component connections of the transformer were carefully checked to ensure that it can adapt to the outdoor pole installation and operation environment.

In addition, a protection function test was carried out to verify the reliability of its self-protection mechanism.

Each test strictly follows the relevant standards and specifications, and based on detailed test data and result analysis, a comprehensive judgment is made as to whether the transformer meets the factory requirements, laying the foundation for its subsequent stable and reliable operation.

Routine Test - On load Loss Test

Purpose of Testing
The purpose of On-load Loss Test is to measure the active power loss of the transformer under rated voltage and rated load, evaluate its energy efficiency level and design compliance, and provide a basis for energy consumption calculation and performance optimization during operation.
Testing Equipment
Power transformer test system (e.g. OMICRON, ISA, Tettex, Vanguard, etc.)
Voltage source and current source (usually rated voltage, or adjusted according to the test standard, such as 10 KV, 20 KV, 35 KV, etc.)
Temperature and humidity meter (used to record ambient temperature and humidity for correction of test data)
Pre-Test Preparation
Disconnect the transformer high voltage, low voltage and neutral power supply to ensure that the equipment is properly grounded and safely discharged.
The test environment should be dry and rainless, with a relative humidity of less than 75% and a recommended temperature range of 20–30°C.
Test Progress
Connect the Test Instrument:
Connect the test equipment to the appropriate terminals of the device under test and ensure that all wiring is correct and the device is well grounded.
Apply Test Voltage:
Apply the specified test voltage at the rated frequency and adjust the low voltage side to maintain the rated current (or specified current).
Measure and Record
Start the test and record the following parameters:
On-Load Loss Power
Input Power and Output Power
Current
Voltage
Temperature (temperature rise or winding temperature)
Ambient temperature and humidity during the test
Temperature Correction
The measured loss data is corrected based on a reference temperature (usually 20°C) to ensure the accuracy of the results.
Repeat Testing (if necessary)
Test different tap positions (Tap Changer) and record and compare the load loss data of each tap point.
Evaluation Criteria (Reference)
Evaluate the test results based on the equipment type and manufacturer requirements. If the load losses are low and the efficiency is high, it is considered "normal". If the load losses are too high or the efficiency is low, further inspection or corrective action is required.
*These comprehensive tests ensure that each transformer meets performance standards and operates reliably under various conditions.
