Packing and Shipping

50kVA Dry Type Transformer
NPC ELECTRIC’s dry-type transformers are meticulously packaged for secure sea freight and long-distance transport, ensuring they arrive at their destination in perfect condition and ready for installation. During the packaging and transportation of 50kVA dry-type transformers, we follow a strict quality control process to ensure that the products can reach customers safely and intact. First, during the packaging stage, the transformers will be carefully packed into sturdy wooden boxes or steel frames to provide necessary protection. The lining uses high-density foam or plastic bags to absorb vibration and external impact to prevent any damage or deformation during transportation. The outside of the transformer is also covered with waterproof and dustproof plastic film to ensure that it is not affected by moisture, dust or other environmental factors during transportation.
Each packaging box will be clearly labeled with the transformer model, specifications, weight, shipping date and special transportation requirements (such as fragile items or avoiding tilting, etc.). At the same time, we will also include detailed product instructions and installation guides in the packaging so that customers can quickly install and debug the equipment after receiving the goods.
During transportation, we choose the most suitable transportation method according to customer needs, including land, sea or air transportation. In order to ensure the safety and timely delivery of products, we cooperate with reliable logistics companies to provide real-time tracking and monitoring to ensure that every step of the transportation process is effectively supervised. During transportation, special attention is paid to avoid long-term exposure to the open air to prevent the potential impact of direct sunlight and bad weather on the transformer.
When the transformer arrives at the destination, customers should promptly unpack and inspect to confirm whether the product is intact. If any damage or abnormality is found, we provide fast-response after-sales service to ensure that the problem can be solved in a timely manner. Overall, our packaging and transportation processes are designed to minimize transportation risks and ensure that the 30kVA dry-type transformer can be delivered to customers in the best condition to meet their high standards of use.

Progress Test

At NPC Electric, our 50kVA dry-type transformers are strictly subject to a series of progress tests during the production process to ensure that each product meets high quality and reliability standards. Our progress tests include winding resistance test, insulation resistance test, no-load test, load test, temperature rise test and short-circuit impedance test to verify the electrical performance, insulation strength and stability of the transformer. In addition, we also conduct noise tests to ensure that the transformer meets the noise control requirements during operation and is suitable for various use environments. Through these precise progress tests, NPC Electric ensures that each 50kVA dry-type transformer can provide long-lasting and stable power support and meet the needs of customers.

Transformer Factory Acceptance Test

NPC Electric conducts rigorous quality control testing on every transformer or representative samples, as well as on specific components and materials, to ensure compliance with design specifications throughout the production process.
The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for a 50kVA three-phase dry-type transformer is a critical step performed before shipment to verify that the unit meets all applicable standards and delivers optimal performance. The FAT includes the following key procedures:
Visual Inspection: Evaluates the transformer’s physical condition, including the enclosure, terminals, and labeling, to ensure conformance with design and safety requirements.
Electrical Testing: Involves measuring winding resistance, insulation resistance, and performing turns ratio tests to validate electrical integrity and functionality.
Dielectric Strength Test: Applies high voltage across the insulation system to ensure it can endure both normal and transient operating voltages without failure.
Load Testing: Simulates real-world operating conditions to assess the transformer’s voltage regulation, temperature rise, and overall efficiency under load.
Protection Device Testing: Verifies the proper operation of integrated protective components such as thermal sensors, temperature relays, and tap changers (if applicable).

Routine Test - On load Loss Test

Purpose of Testing
The purpose of On-load Loss Test is to measure the active power loss of the transformer under rated voltage and rated load, evaluate its energy efficiency level and design compliance, and provide a basis for energy consumption calculation and performance optimization during operation.
Testing Equipment
Power transformer test system (e.g. OMICRON, ISA, Tettex, Vanguard, etc.)
Voltage source and current source (usually rated voltage, or adjusted according to the test standard, such as 10 KV, 20 KV, 35 KV, etc.)
Temperature and humidity meter (used to record ambient temperature and humidity for correction of test data)
Pre-Test Preparation
Disconnect the transformer high voltage, low voltage and neutral power supply to ensure that the equipment is properly grounded and safely discharged.
The test environment should be dry and rainless, with a relative humidity of less than 75% and a recommended temperature range of 20–30°C.
Test Progress
Connect the Test Instrument:
Connect the test equipment to the appropriate terminals of the device under test and ensure that all wiring is correct and the device is well grounded.
Apply Test Voltage:
Apply the specified test voltage at the rated frequency and adjust the low voltage side to maintain the rated current (or specified current).
Measure and Record
Start the test and record the following parameters:
On-Load Loss Power
Input Power and Output Power
Current
Voltage
Temperature (temperature rise or winding temperature)
Ambient temperature and humidity during the test
Temperature Correction
The measured loss data is corrected based on a reference temperature (usually 20°C) to ensure the accuracy of the results.
Repeat Testing (if necessary)
Test different tap positions (Tap Changer) and record and compare the load loss data of each tap point.
Evaluation Criteria (Reference)
Evaluate the test results based on the equipment type and manufacturer requirements. If the load losses are low and the efficiency is high, it is considered "normal".
Test standard
IEEE C57.12.01 & IEEE C57.12.91 (Dry-Type)
*These comprehensive tests ensure that each transformer meets performance standards and operates reliably under various conditions.
